On 25 November 2022, Parliamentary State Secretary Anette Kramme welcomed a delegation from Tajikistan led by First Deputy Prime Minister Davlatali Said to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

The talks focused on the issue of migration of skilled workers to Germany from third countries such as Tajikistan. Germany urgently needs skilled labour and many young people in Tajikistan are looking for jobs, especially those who were working in Russia before Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. Parliamentary State Secretary Anette Kramme explained current and future opportunities and requirements for skilled workers wanting to take up employment in Germany under the Skilled Immigration Act. She stated that the Federal Government is working to "develop the legal framework for labour migration and make it easier". "A legislative package would be passed at the beginning of next year", Kramme said.

First Deputy Prime Minister Said explained Tajikistan's efforts to become more independent from Russia against the backdrop of Russia's war against Ukraine. The Federal Government would like to support Tajikistan in these efforts. The EU is also doing so with its new strategy on Central Asia. Negotiations between the EU and Tajikistan on an expanded partnership and cooperation agreement are scheduled to start in 2023.

During the talks, Parliamentary State Secretary Kramme also expressed her concerns about the deteriorating human rights situation in Tajikistan. Both sides said they were open to continuing the dialogue.
