Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs enhances cooperation with Ukraine
On 13 June, State Secretary Dr. Rolf Schmachtenberg and Iryna Postolovska, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, signed an institutional partnership. By signing the partnership agreement, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs will enhance its existing cooperation with Ukraine.
Partnership with Canada strengthened further
State Secretary Leonie Gebers received the Canadian Deputy Minister of Employment and Social Development Paul Thompson for talks at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The talks focussed on recruiting skilled workers and fighting youth unemployment.
Employees of Vallourec Deutschland GmbH receive support from the EGF

EGF shall support laid-off employees of the steel company Vallourec Deutschland GmbH
The European Commission decided on February 29, 2024, to support 835 former employees of Vallourec Deutschland GmbH (VAD) with the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to facilitate their reintegration into the workforce.
