Germany urgently needs more (skilled) workers. Many refugees, including 200,000 Ukrainians, have completed their integration course or will do so in the coming months and have basic German skills. There are some 200,000 refugees from other countries with a basic knowledge of German. Many of them are well qualified and planning to live in Germany long-term. The aim of Job-Turbo is to take advantage of this potential and get people into work quickly.
Work and integration are mutually dependent. This requires employers who give refugees a chance, even if their language skills are not yet perfect.
Finding (skilled) workers
Germany has achieved remarkable results in recent years in receiving and supporting people seeking protection, primarily from Ukraine. In 2022 more people started an integration or vocational language course than ever before in a single year, and a new record number of participants is expected in 2023. Most of them are refugees who, having completed the integration course, speak basic German and are now looking to gain work experience. You can find suitable applicants through the local employment service. Get in touch!
Training support
On-the-job training is worthwhile for both parties: it helps new people settle in and allows companies to make the most of their employees’ potential in the long term and turn them into skilled workers. Employers are not alone when it comes to providing refugees with on-the-job training: companies can receive support for various further training, qualification and language support measures. This ensures that the requirements of companies and the skills of the refugees align as closely as possible. The employment service integration staff support people when they enter the job market and, if required, beyond that.
Starting out together
The workplace provides opportunities for qualification and language acquisition. Giving refugees a chance now often means finding long-term employees. Building on their initial experience in the German job market, refugees can often develop into skilled workers. Switching to a residence title for employment purposes gives both parties security. Training measures create long-term prospects, for your own company and for refugees.

The courses can also be taken part-time, on-the-job, virtually or as a hybrid course. Company-specific courses can be taken via an approved language course provider, via the field service of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) or the Federal Employment Agency. The BAMF also recommends the free online self-study courses.
